Welcome!

Established in 2007, STA Saints Rugby has been a proud affiliate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas, through Heartland Youth Rugby.  Starting with a boys' 15s team, we've expanded to include a men's 7s squad and a women's 7s rugby team. Our men's 15s team has dominated the Kansas State Rugby Championships, securing 14 titles in the last 16 years. Nationally, we've achieved remarkable success, placing 7th among 2,500 rugby clubs in 2024. Our Saints Rugby girls' program, founded in 2023, won their first Girls' 7s High School State Title in its inaugural year and won back to back state Championship winners in 2024! Many of our players continue their rugby journeys in college and some even pursue professional careers.

Our dedicated coaching team fosters a culture that not only develops skilled players but also emphasizes character building and community involvement. Together, we volunteer in our local community, instilling values of teamwork, integrity, and moral growth in our athletes. Rugby is more than just a game; it's a way of life.

If you're interested in playing rugby, contact Saints Rugby and we will keep you informed as the season approaches!

Team Jersey Laundry Sign Up

We need all parents to help launder the rugby team jerseys throughout the season.

A link to the SignUp Genius will be added soon!

Jerseys are expensive so we treat them with care and do what we can to sustain their longevity.

Here's how it works:

  • Please make sure you get the bag(s) of jerseys from the managers after the games end. They will need time to gather all jerseys and make sure they are accounted for before you take the bag, so please be patient with them while they complete this task.
  • It is preferred that jerseys be laundered in cold water and hung to dry.
  • If you sign up for an out of town tournament, sometimes we have laundry in our hotel, and sometimes we need to find a laundromat. Sometimes we are in a pinch, and we have to throw the jerseys in the dryer on low temp. Pro Tip: Take quarters, hangers, and laundry detergent with you!
  • If you sign up for the last day of an out of town trip, you will need to transport the jerseys back to KC to launder.
  • Please wash, fold, and have your player return the jerseys to Coach at the next practice.
  • All jerseys need to be folded with the number facing out and placed in numerical order in the bag provided (2 stacks in one bag). Coaches need them in this order for game days so please pay close attention to this detail.

If you have any questions, you can always reach out, I am happy to help.

Thank you for helping with this necessary chore for the team!
